What Can I Do for Myself...
- Talk to a friend.
- Arrange a signal with a friend for when you need help.
- Keep your cell phone with you at all times.
- Know which adults you can trust.
- Get medical help for injuries seen and unseen.
- Remember the abuse is not your fault.
- Remind yourself that everyone has the right to be respected in relationships.
- Talk to an advocate who knows about dating violence.
- CALL 24/7 the local hotline FREE and CONFIDENTIAL
How to Help a Friend...
- Listen and believe them.
- Don't blame. There's NO EXCUSE for abuse.
- Offer to go with her/him for help.
- Don't laugh at or ignore an act of violence or abusive behavior.
- Be a role model. Treat friends and dates with respect.
